• Crafts Market: Located near the Organ Hall in the city center, this market showcases works by Moldovan artisans. Find embroidered blouses, traditional aprons, ceramic and wood items, plus Soviet-era collectibles like badges and ushanka hats—ideal for authentic souvenirs.

• Flea Market: A treasure trove for antique lovers near the railway station. Browse vintage decorative ware, old cups, dishes, and various items from decades past. It’s a charming spot to hunt for unique, history-rich finds at bargain prices.

Parks

• Ștefan cel Mare Public Garden: Chisinau’s oldest park, opened in 1835 with a French-inspired design. Features flower gardens, over 1,000 acacia trees, two fountains, and the Avenue of Classics lined with 28 busts of famous Bessarabian writers. Free Wi-Fi and charging outlets available.

• Botanical Garden: Founded in 1950 by Moldova’s Academy of Sciences, this 104-hectare garden contains over 10,000 plant species. While parts are manicured, much resembles a natural forest. Highlights include rose, alpine, and conifer sections, plus lakes and quiet meadows.

• Afghanistan War Memorial Park: Dedicated to the 301 Moldovans who died in the Soviet-Afghan War. The stark memorial features four sloped sides converging into a cross, with names of the fallen inscribed. Nearby are trendy shops, restaurants, and cafés.

• La Izvor Park: A 150-hectare park opened in 1972, centered on spring-fed lakes linked by canals. The Elena Fountain offers drinkable water. Enjoy sandy beaches, a waterfall, jogging paths, boat rides, and an island cave. Less crowded due to its distance from the center.

• Riscani Park: A 32-hectare double-tiered park stretching along Dimo Street. Higher ground has broad-leafed trees with great city views; lower ground features firs. Includes four lakes, a boat dock, sandy beach, public archery range, and water rides.

• Alunelul Park: Built in the early 1960s on 11 hectares that were once part of a Jewish cemetery. Contains the 1903 Pogrom Memorial commemorating victims of anti-Jewish riots. A significant historical site reflecting Moldova’s complex past.

• Cathedral Park: Over 180 years old, located in the heart of the city. All eight entrances lead to the Church of the Nativity. Features Chisinau’s own Triumphal Arch, a statue of Ștefan cel Mare, and free Wi-Fi—perfect for relaxing with ice cream.

• Dendrarium Park: Possibly Chisinau’s most beautiful park, with vibrant flowers and trees from 50 world regions. Durlesti Creek runs through its 78 hectares. Features white lilies, rock waterfalls, electric train rides, and a charming bronze statue collection. Spectacular in autumn.

• Valea Morilor: A favorite park in Buiucani, built in 1950 by order of Leonid Brezhnev. Features a manmade lake, cascading water stairway, and a 218-step pedestrian staircase. Rent kayaks, jog or cycle around the lake, and try to spot the hidden Statue of the Little Prince.

• Valea Trandafirilor: An oasis near the center with three natural lakes, rose gardens, and abundant trees. Popular for jogging, cycling, and paddleboats shaped like swans and locomotives. Includes Chisinau’s only permanent Ferris wheel, sand volleyball pits, restaurants, and playgrounds.

• Constantin Brincusi Exhibition Center: Located on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, this center represents Moldova’s Union of Plastic Artists. It displays fundamental works by local artists, offering insight into the country’s contemporary art scene and evolving creative expression.
